Detailed Bio
Work: I am currently working for a company called Riders for Health ( www.riders.org ) who are a UK based charity who proved and maintain vehicles (mainly motorcycles but some 4x4's double cabs as well) in Africa (Nigeria, Gambia, Zimbabwe and the Dominican Republic of Congo (DRC)). Riders for Health have alot of contacts throughout the motor cycle racing world and as such we are given alot of memorabilia by riders to auction off on our website, Riders for Health were also the 2001 Charity of the Year.
As the I.T. Manager for Riders, I am responsible for the day to day running of the UK's computer network, I also provide telephone support to our offices in Africa. I have made one trip to Nigeria so far, were i went to evaluate there current I.T. equipment and assess there future needs as well. I will be paying a visit to our other 3 offices as well in the not so distant future. I think my next trip will be to Zimbabwe, where I will be installing a new computer network for them. I will also have to do the same in the Gambia except that in the Gambia they don't have a computer network at the moment so i have to install everything from scratch.
I am thoroughly enjoying the new challenege that Riders present's to me, and knowing that the work I do for them is helping thousands of other people, it is this side of the job that makes the work so much more worthwhile and satisfiying.
Hobbies: Im an still a mad fisherman and have recently started taking Sammy with me who really seems to enjoy herself, especially since our last trip where she caught more than I did! As im taking Sammy fishing with me, I had to find something that Jamie and I could do on ourselves and Jamie suggested swimming. Jamie loves water so going swimming with her is alot of fun, the only problem I have is trying to get her out of the pool to go home. Since moving to Daventry I have been biking to work, its so much cheaper and quicker than going in by car and it helps to keep me fit too. Most of my spare time is of course taken up by Sam, Jamie and Megan and i adore the attention I get from them all, they are all so much fun to be around.
